RIP Glitch.com

Category: | Posted on:January 12, 2026

Glitch.com, the service I was using to host some of my projects for free, has terminated its hosting services. I didn’t find out until after the grace period, so everything I had up there is gone, but it was all just copies of existing repos anyway. I’ve had to migrate the original Game Picker 9000, Animation Archive, and React Portfolio to Vercel instead.

This is actually fine. Glitch’s deployment was not as smooth as Vercel’s. I’d had trouble with some react projects not building correctly and ended up manually re-building them with their in-browser IDE. The site was geared more towards tinkering than hosting. Updating anything was a pain. I’d rather have it all in one place.

At this point, I think I have all of the links swapped here on the web cave. Time will tell.
